GENERAL INFORMATION

I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding. ~I Corinthians 14:15
PLEASE NOTE: THIS PAGE IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

Why we sing?

God has bestowed upon His people the gift of song. God dwells within each human person, in the place where music takes its source. Indeed, God, the giver of song, is present whenever His people sing His praises. Here at Divine Mercy, we strive to allow each person an opportunity to praise the Lord with music, no matter where you are in your faith journey. Join us!

Rehearsals before Mass

Do your vocal warm-up before arriving! Please arrive early, with music in order in your folder. If you are missing any music, please ask Mike or Ron as soon as possible. Please listen attentively to instructions during this short & valuable period. Other matters can be addressed after Mass. Please use the resources available to practice your part(s) on this website.

Song Leaders/Psalmists meet with pianist/organist in the church approx. 30 minutes before scheduled Mass time.

5p Saturday Ensemble meets in the Music Studio at 4 p.m. (Sacred Heart)

8a Cantors meet in the Convent at 7:15a on Sunday. (St. Philip)

10a Cantors & Adult Choir Ministers meet at 9:15a on Sunday. (Sacred Heart)

4:30p Contemporary Choir meets in the Music Studio at 4 p.m. at 3:15p on Sunday.

Call Times and Concert Dress

Attire for all Masses: Wear your Sunday best.  As a rule - NO SHORTS.  Occasionally we will ask you to wear something of the liturgical colors, however, this is always optional, but bear in mind that either purple or red may be the "color of the day".  For holy days and observances we may defer to "all black" or "mostly black" rather than white/black:  Christmas: Black Tie (men: tuxedos; ladies: concert black).
Easter and Holy Week: Concert dress (men: dark suits/ties; ladies: concert black)
